In this time between Christmas and New Year, I always love to do a deep journaling session.
This helps me end the year in the best possible mindset, which in turn helps me start the following year in the best mindset.
I’ve personally had a year of massive highs and manic lows, things that have really tested me and things that have made me so happy I could cry. So for me, this journaling exercise is helping me re-frame the lows, learn from the challenges and use the findings to guide me towards what I desire. And celebrating the wins helps me see how to create more of them next year!
Whether you’ve had the best year, or a really challenging one, you want to be going into a new year with self belief, confidence, conviction and positivity.
We have to let go of self doubt, beating yourself up or questioning yourself. These journal prompts help you ensure your mindset is in the best frame possible!
So carve out some time and journal to or reflect on these prompts –
- What made you happy this year? (Plan to do more of this next year!)
- Who made you happy this year? (Spoiler alert: spend more time with those people next year!)
- What are you proud of? (Aim for at least 5, bonus points for 10!)
- What were some habits that supported this that you want to take into 2026?
- What was something that was challenging but that you got through?
- What did you learn in these challenges?
- Were they challenges that you had control over, or things you had no control over?
- Could you have responded in any better way to those events?
- What do you need to let go of next year?
- What is a win that needs to be remembered?
- What helped you achieve that win?
- What was your mindset and approach that helped create that win?
- Who do you need to be to have more wins like that next year?
- What has gone well this year?
- What would I like to improve on next year?
- What do I want to achieve next year?
- Why do I want to achieve this?
- Who do I need to be to achieve this and what habits & actions will help me manifest this?
Set some time aside and commit to reflecting, so that no matter how your year has gone, you can move into a new year with a fresh mindset that’s going to help you achieve your desires. Than, let’s go smash 2026 🤩
